Hello good friend! Brad and I (Christina) want to take the time to update you on whats been going on in our lives!

Bradly and I launched this fundraiser on September 21 of 2014, and that means that after just over three short months there has been $840.00 fundraised!!
Sometime in early December we put out a challenge that we would love to raise another hundred dollars before the year was up.... Boy did that get answered! With a total of $260.00!! The Christmas orders were incredible, and incredibly encouraging!! We are really excited about this new year and we are going into it with big (but very doable ) goals!! Brad and I have decided to aim to fund raise (along with our own contributions) $3000.00 in 2015! Let us put that in perspective for you guys, in 3 months we raised $840, that is almost $300/month! $300.00 x 12 months =$3600.00 ( 600 dollars more than our goal!!) $3000 x 5 years = $15,000 (AKA our minimum total goal and length of time fundraising) We have been blown away each month, and so we are setting the bar higher with full confidence that it will be reached! But now more than ever we need your help! If you're reading this we need you! -You can pray, its been so powerful so far, its not gonna stop helping :) -You can SHARE SHARE SHARE this page, the Etsy Page, with your friends, online, offline, in person, at work etc!! ( When the Etsy page gets shared the views for those few days skyrocket! News hits a new circle of people, its beautiful!) -You can order a scarf through Etsy or in person. you can donate! In person, or with the PayPal buttons found on this site! We have been so encouraged, have felt so blessed, and thankful for you and for the Lord. All we had to provide was willing hearts for the Lord to use, and He has definitely been doing the rest! P.s If YOU have any ideas for us on how you could help, or something that can help, feel free to email! we would love to hear from you!! (The email is on the contact page of this website) Thanks again and God bless, Brad and Christina WOW!! I feel like that is all I can say! We have had a lovely number of sales come in for this season and its wonderfully overwhelming! It has been such a joy to see the support from family and friends as well as complete strangers! Brad and I have this wonderful lady at our bank we love to chat with, and she has expressed interest in our fundraising, and our lives in general, I can honestly say she makes our banking experience incredible! Although that may seem random to mention it is something I have been thinking about today, how much she impacts our lives, and perhaps how much we get to impact hers in the warmest way. We also want to take the time to mention to you guys where we mostly get our yarn from, its a local shop here in Saskatoon called Prairie Lily Knitting. This has been a special part of our fundraising because the lady who owns it ( Charlene) Has given us the best customer service we could ask for, it is so clear she loves her job so we asked her a few details! In our talk with Charlene we learned that she bought this shop in 2008 ( 6 years ago) and has been in love with her work since, she personally loves to knit which is very clear when you talk with her! She says "I once told the previous owner that it was my dream to own a shop like this and I planned on buying it when she was ready to retire.... so right then and there the owner told me she was ready to retire!" So just like that Charlene went home and started planning how to tackles this new adventure! She is a wonderful part of our experience fundraising and although we need her, she thanked us, and reminded us she needs us too. What a more personal way to shop than at a big name store :) We have so much thankfulness in our hearts and there quite a few of our supporters we will get to visit this Christmas season as well as drop off orders, what a wonderful reason to visit and spend time with you all! Again we cannot yet offer you guys more specific details on the adoption for it is still quite far away but we can give you this perspective : In almost 3 months we will have raised over 600 dollars ( YAY)
If every year we fund-raised $5000 profit it would take us a mere 3 years to be very close to this reality, If every year we fund-raised $3000 profit, it would take again only 5 years!! HOW EXCITING?! We remind you again we are putting what we can towards the savings ourselves and we love and appreciate your support! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We are so so grateful for the time we have been fundraising and encouraged by your support! It is our joy to announce we have officially fund raised $500.00 PROFIT! We are on our way to adoption, now only a zillion more dollars to go! In reality we plan to research and come up with a ball park amount of money we are going need for this to come true, and as daunting as the big number may be, this 500 is a checkpoint for sure! We again are not just asking for financial support, but support in PRAYER, and advice!
If you feel like contacting us the connect page is on this website. If you feel like supporting financially there is a donate button on this websites front page If you feel like buying a scarf in support, our etsy store is www.alytleloving.etsy.com If you feel like supporting prayer you are so welcome to do that! Thank you all again so much! LASTLY: We are having a GIVEAWAY to celebrate and get our name out there more! There will be a post on facebook, which will have a link to etsy page, aswell as this site, all you gotta do is like and share that post and your entered to win a free headwarmer :) https://www.facebook.com/christina.gass.11 to find the post! We pick BOTH! I have had a few people ask or assume that our interest in adoption goes hand in hand with us deciding not to have our own children, and on behalf of Brad and myself I would like to assure you that YES Brad and I would love to have our own children, we really do plan and hope for that. I understand couples who cant conceive sometimes decide to adopt and thats wonderful! We however simply plan to love our biological child(ren) as well as an adopted child! We are excited about the family dynamic it could create :)
Brad and I have no idea if we are capable of creating a little life together, but know that we hope we can one day. But we do know we are capable of parenting and that we plan to do for any little blessing we can create or adopt or BOTH. Thanks again for reading , God Bless, Christina Lytle Here is an update on life for us!
I am currently LOVING my job, I know that there will be days that I wont love it as much, but for now it is quite the blessing and I definitely plan to follow through! Brad is working at a coffee shop in the city called City Perks, he works on cash, and dishes, serving and such, its been a great financial help to have us both working! He is also doing his 4th year internship for Nipawin Bible College. He is doing his internship at the Carpenters Church, doing some administrative, announcement, cleaning, meetings, childrens church. It has been great for us to be busy, working, and definitely spending time with each other :) We are finally into a pretty good routine, with work, his meetings, College and Career on Thursdays, and other things that come up through out the week. We feel very blessed and excited about the project and have received a donation that is quite encouraging ! This is just the beginning of sales, and donations, of amounts we put aside, and reseeach we do to get ready for this venture. Thanks for tuning in, for taking the time to read, and for the support of your love and prayers, and a dollar or two ;) Love: Christina Lytle ok so here is the deal, we are thinking there SHOULD be a donating option on this site by the end of the week, bare with us, its turning out to be more of a process than anticipated, we love you, love your excitment, please continue in prayer :)
Also for anyone staying tuned into the site, I'll let you know that the cat at the top of the page happens to be our beautiful cat Ezra! Much love for that cat. thats all, take care! So much excitement and nothing to do with it! Except pray, pray and prepare to launch this beautiful website.
Each day we are talking, praying, working through different details and plans. We talk to each other often about it, since we cant talk to others yet. In fact I am so glad I can make this post that no one will see to get some of this excitement out. I have been working on a coffee table with another one in the works in the near future, there is a small bookshelf begging me to paint it and I cannot wait to go buy tulle for the etsy store! Brad and I can be dangerously good for each other because when one is excited, both become excited quickly! I feel The Lord so evidently in our lives, with the choices we are making early as a couple, and the faith I feel in my heart. I have been so blessed, and feel so called to bless others. This is not just a personal calling, it is given to each and every christian to go out and make disciples (Matt 28:19-20) . To be Jesus to the hungry, thirsty, cold, and homeless (Matt 25:34-40). Brad and I went out today and handed out apples and prayed with the panhandlers downtown and let me just say I was brought to tears at the openness, the friendliness, and approach-ability of such people. It makes my heat glad to be a part of a bigger picture, and so happy to be doing it with an amazing life partner and amazing God. |
